1961 Shaftesbury 30

I had never heard of this amp before I met it. An inherited amp which has definitely seen some minor work in the past but more or less it was original.

A proper British amp, built solidly with its original Mullard EL34s and ECC83s. Totally mad construction and choice of oval speakers. This amp had seen things man, the grill cloth clearly had had a beer poured down it and the rectifier valve was sparking away.

This thing needed a bit of work, a new rectifier valve, new filter caps, power supply and grounding needed sorting out, new grill cloth and a long clean... In the end it sounded totally fantastic with a deep tremolo. I doubt I’ll see one of these again, what a treat for an amp nerd.
